Lueck, Fern Emily Seymour Fern Emily Lueck, age 85, passed away Friday, January 23, 2004, at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Seymour. She was born April 10, 1918 in the Town of Center, the daughter of the late William and Selma (Finder) Wichman. On August 15, 1941 she was married to Kermit Lueck at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour.

Together they farmed in 1 rural Seymour for 29 years. They moved to Appleton in 1969. She then was a volunteer at the Appleton Medical Center, a Charter Member. Fern moved back to Seymour in 1991. She was an active member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, and the Altar Circle, Sara Circle, Emmanuel Quilters and a member of Con- Age 84, died peacefully Thursday, January 22, 2004, at Century Oaks.

She was born June 2, 1919, in Appleton; daughter of the late William and Florence (Greely) Schmidt. Clarice married Joseph Miller. She later married Simon "Shorty" Barlow on July 5, 1952. He preceded her in death on July 15, 1991. She was a charter member of the Chaminade Chorus and Sweet Adelines.

Clarice loved music, singing, knitting, collecting watches, and volunteering at the Menasha Senior Center. She was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by two children: Carol (Miller) DeBruin and John Miller; and two brothers: Robert Schmidt and Lester Schmidt. She is survived by a niece, Marlessa (John) Benson; nephew, Tom Schmidt; two grandsons: Delvin DeBruin and George (Lisa) De Bruin; and a greatgranddaughter, Breanna. A visitation will be held Monday, January 26, 2004 at 1 p.m.

He was born May 20, 1926 in Appleton, the son of the late Elmer and Vi (Rohm) Brockman. In November of 1961 he was united in marriage to Betty Hilgendorf. Don was a 1945 graduate of Appleton High School, where he lettered in football, basketball and track. He was named MVP and All Conference center and set a track record. Don was a well-respected horseman across the country.

He started his career at Meadowood Farms, then worked at many stables, until establishing the successful Brockman Stables in Neenah, Wisconsin and most recently trained at Glen Valley Stables, Oshkosh. He trained some of the country's bestknown saddlebred horses, as well as educated numerous accomplished equitation and amateur riders. Don was greatly admired for the development and training of Sultan Santana, a World Champion Stallion. He was a founding member of the United Professional Horseman's Association (UPHA), serving as secretary for ten years and was inducted into the UPHA's. Hall of Fame in January 1996.

He also, served on the Board of the American Saddlebred Horse Association of Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Futurities. Don was named "Horseman of the Year" for the UPHA and ASAW. He was a highly respected judge of horse shows throughout the country. cordia. Fern was predeceased by her beloved husband, Kermit, of 49 years.

She is survived by her sons: Reverend Dennis K. Lueck and wife, Carol, of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada; and Master Gunnery Sargeant (Ret.) David L. Lueck and wife, Yoneko, of Jacksonville, N.C. Four grandchildren: Gregory, Paul (Yvonne), and Lisa (Lee) Miles, Asuka (Chris) Selway and seven great-grandchildren. Also, survived by Gerald, Lynn, Ronald and Sara Kmecheck, who considered Kermit and Fern their grandparents.

She is further survived by one brother, Roy (Gladys) Wichman, Appleton; and two sisters, Verla Maass and Eunice Karweick, Seymour; one brother-in-law, Robert (Vi) Lueck, Appleton, one sister-inlaw, Betty Lueck, Kaukauna; also, many nieces, nephew, cousins and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Evelyn; three brothers-in-law: Norman Maass, Lester Karweick, and Stephan Simon; also, a godchild, Leslie Karweick. New London Age 88, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2004, at St. Joseph Residence in New London. She was born on February 10, 1915, in the Town of Maple Creek; daughter of the late August and Clara (Ritchie) Affeldt. Lucille was a resident of New London all her life. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church.

She is survived by three daughters: Carol Linberg, New London; Carmen Henschel, Neenah; La Verne (Dennis) Beyer, Neenah; a stepson, Gerhardt (Barb) Hoffman, Minnesota; and a sister in-law, Madeline Affeldt, Shiocton. Eight grandchildren, 12 greatgrandchildren and six greatgreat-grandchildren further survive Lucille. She is preceded in death by her husband Ray (1997), a son in-law Tom Linberg, two brothers: Louis and Renzel, and a sister Grace.
