This Virgin Mimosa Recipe is my variation of the traditional mimosa we became familiar with at baby showers and Sunday brunches. Also know as a "Mockmosa", this bubbly drink if a perfect non-alcoholic version of the classic co*cktail when you want to forgo the alcohol. Plus, kids also love this delicious drink that is made with orange juice, limeade, and lemon-lime soda.
Beside being the perfect brunch drink, this easy mimosa mocktail if great for Mother's Day, special occasions, baby showers, and the holiday season.
The first time we made these was on Easter. As we drank our virgin mimosa mocktails, we dyed some eggs and decided to giveSouthern Fatty's Homemade Marshmallow Peeps a try. (They were amazing!)
Recipe Ingredients
- Orange Juice
- Limeade
- Lemon-Lime Soda
- Fresh Fruit for Garnish (optional)
How to make this fun mocktail
For presentation using the classic champagne flute adds to the elegance of this virgin mimosa drink.
Fill the glasses about a third to half-way full of the orange juice. Fresh orange juice works great for this drink, however, you can also use your favorite brand of orange juice.
Next, add the limeade. The lime juice adds a nice tartness to the virgin mimosa.
You want about half as much limeade as orange juice. The glass will now be about three-quarters full.
Finally, top it off with your favorite lemon-lime soda. If you prefer, you can use lemon-lime sparkling water. This adds the champagne fizziness to this delicious mocktail.
If you would like to add a bit more to this mocktail mimosa, add some fresh fruit such as orange slices or some strawberries.

Terri
I would like to try your virgin mimosas recipe for a baby shower. However, due to the number of guests, I would like to make it up ahead of time and serve it from a punch bowl. Do you think this would work, and could you give me an idea as to the amount of each ingredient that would be needed?
Thanks.Reply

Hi! I have never made a large batch of these mimosas. If it were me, I would just play with it a bit. Just before the shower pour a good amount of orange juice and a small amount of limeade in the bowl. Maybe 1/4 to 1/3 cup limeade to 2 cups orange juice. Then add some lemon-lime soda to get a decent amount of carbonation. Sample it and adjust from there. Since it will be in a punch bowl you might also want to make an orange juice ice ring to help keep it cool. Good luck and let me know how it goes.
