“My philosophy in practice is competence, compassion and communication. These three things result in confidence in what we do, assuring better care and successful outcomes for our patients”, states Dr. Jayanty.“I don’t practice defensive medicine: good medicine is the best defense. Optimal use of current innovations and judicious use of scientific knowledge, linked to a logical mind, gives superior outcomes and minimizes complications related to unnecessary tests and treatments of no or minimal proven clinical benefit”, he adds.

After earning his combined Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Medicine degrees (MBBS) at Andhra University Medical College in Visakhapatnam, India, in 1975, Dr. Jayanty relocated to the United States, where he completed his internship at Deaconess Hospital of Saint Louis (1977-1978), his residency in internal medicine at Easton Hospital (1978-1980), and fellowship in gastroenterology at the University of Louisville in Kentucky (1981-1983).

Licensed to practice in the state of Texas, Dr. Jayanty is board-certified in internal medicine and the subspecialty of gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.

Gastroenterology is the branch of medicine focused on the digestive system and its disorders. A gastroenterologist is a physician who has extensive training in the diagnosis and treatment of disorders related to the esophagus, stomach, small intestines, colon, liver, pancreas, and biliary system.

Moreover, he remains an active member of the American Medical Association, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the Harris County Medical Society, and the Texas Society for Gastroenterology and Endoscopy.

On a more personal note, Dr. Jayanty speaks Telgu and Spanish in addition to English. Outside his professional commitments, he enjoys being with his wife and six children, playing tennis, reading, cooking, working out, and traveling.
